As a Public Affairs Specialist, Jonathan brings nearly two decades of experience as a lobbyist, coalition builder, and public relations specialist. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, unions, trade associations, and small businesses. Jonathan is skilled at fostering relationships built on respect, trust, and goodwill.

Throughout his career, he has successfully developed legislative and media strategies that raise public awareness of critical issues. His efforts have built broad support for increasing government funding and for leading complex public policy changes. He has extensive experience with a variety of legislative issues, including higher education, gaming, local governments, environmental and natural resources, and more.

Since December 2014, Jonathan has been the Director of Public Affairs at the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO). In this role, he has achieved significant accomplishments, including organizing a coalition to pass the North Star Promise, a free-tuition program for low-income students. He also led a public relations campaign that resulted in the dismissal of several top administrators at St. Cloud State University.

Before joining the IFO, Jonathan served as a Government and Public Relations Account Manager at Goff Public, where he led a successful multi-state initiative to pass legislation supporting Polaris' new product lines. From February 2011 to November 2013, he was the Director of System and Government Relations for the Minnesota State University Student Association. While there, he was invited to the White House for a bill signing by the Obama Administration in recognition of his contributions to federal student loan reforms and the protection of the Pell Grant. He also successfully passed reforms to the Minnesota State Grant Program, securing $24 million in additional funding per biennium for part-time students.

Jonathan holds a Master's in Public Administration and a Bachelor's in Political Science from Hamline University. He also holds a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University and a Business Writing Certificate from the University of Minnesota. He lives in Woodbury and enjoys time landscaping, golfing, and spending time with his wife and two young children.
